A couple years ago, my elderly mother and I toured several Independent living facilities in Albuquerque. The Montebello on Academy was her first choice and we soon put ourselves on the waiting list. Last week she finally moved in and the support she received was phenomenal. As with many seniors, she was anxious about the move and a bit reluctant to leave her home of 20 years. Since moving into the Montebello she has called me several times to rave about the apartment and the professionalism of staff. Britni Lujan has been our contact there and she has been extremely responsive and caring to both me and my mom during a very stressful process. We are both very pleased.

I am a waitstaff and I personally love the way the community works as a team in order to keep the residents happy. The food is usually a good 8/10. The staff always has a smile on their face and from what I have seen, the dietary staff is always laughing and smiling with the residents. My favorite part of the job during this whole pandemic is that, 9 times out of ten we're the reason the residents get to laugh more and smile more. The reason I say this is because we're the only people they see and we make a huge impact on them just like they do to us. I love love making the residents happy!!!

It was an absolutely horrible experience. They are completely non-communicative. They do not return phone calls. They were supposed to email us a plan for my mother-in-law’s care. We received nothing from them. They were supposed to set up zoom calls. They never returned our calls, to set them up. They returned her glasses to us, completely mangled. I don’t believe they bathed her. We have absolutely no idea what kind of physical therapy, if any, that they did. All they told us was that she could walk 25 steps, so they were discharging her. Thank goodness she was only there, for a short period of time.

This place deserves a big ZERO!! Amy and Trish (I can't remember her name - she is in charge of the facility) are not forthcoming with information! Not a safe place for your parents. If you love your parents stay AWAY from here!

I have worked at the Montebello for 18years . I enjoy coming to work and seeing the residents I feel like we make a difference in their lives. Working through this pandemic has made a impact on our lives as well as the residents. I think the leadership of our Executive Director Amy Dimas and the whole team have been very successful in keeping the residents safe as well as the staff.
