Technician did the work without telling me what the problem was and how much it would cost to fix. Then after about 15 min of work, Tech said it would be 250, and would not absorb the 99 diagnostic fee like the phone representative said. I don't think I will ever use this service again. Even after working for Sears for almost 10 years in the 80s and early 90s

Routine maintenance was performed on washer/dryer, satisfactorily. However, the scheduling process is flawed. The maintenance appointment was made for 2 Sep. Sears followed up with several emails confirming the appointment for 2 Sep. The serviceperson showed up 5 days EARLY to perform the scheduled maintenance - on 28 Jan! Fortunately we were home, but we were on a business call via video conferencing. Certainly not the best time for the serviceperson to show up to perform maintenance. After the serviceperson left, I called Sears to find out what happened to the Sep 2 appointment and why did the serviceperson show up 5 days early. I was transferred 3 times, put on hold, and after waiting 20 minutes, I hung up, frustrated. Days afterward, we continued to receive Sears email reminders of the upcoming Sep 2 appointment - even though the service was already completed. Since I could not reach Sears to discuss the issue, we do not know what caused the scheduling mix up and why the lack of communication between Sears and their subcontractor.

So far they have come out twice, charged us 700 and not fixed the problem. Just quoted us another 900 to fix the problem. We called customer service and were hung up on. Unprofessional and no remedy for the problem. Do not use this service.

The service seemed fine. Friendly, professional guy. But when I went to use my washer today it doesn’t work and is having the same issue that I just paid 336 to fix. Calling Sears back in the morning.

Do yourself a favor and avoid Sears appliance repair like the Coronavirus. Terrible customer service- I called a day ahead to reschedule a dryer repair appointment for the afternoon of the next day, as I had to work during the morning. Customer service never informed the technician (Abdul R.) of the schedule change; he came at the originally scheduled time, during the morning. When I told Abdul via text message that he should have been informed by customer service that the time had been rescheduled for the afternoon, he refused to come back that day, saying he had too many appointments. He wouldn't answer his phone or messages. I then called customer service to reschedule for a different day and specifically told them not to send Abdul, as he was unresponsive and difficult. They said they would make a note in their system to send a different technician. Flash forward to today, guess who calls to say he is scheduled to come do the repair- that's right, Abdul. I told him not to bother. I then called Sears several times to try to reschedule at a time when another technician could do the repair, but kept getting transferred from one department to another. No one was able to reschedule, and I was told to wait until Monday to call the warranty department, which was closed on weekends. I ended up canceling the request with Sears altogether and called a different company (DAR), who was able to schedule me for Monday- done in one 5 minute call. Much simpler. Avoid Sears, unless you like headaches and being transferred to multiple departments for something as simple as a dryer repair appointment.
