I love their Hainan chicken, been coming here for years. I used to love their sauce, but now it seems more diluted, tastes like they added some kind of sweet chili sauce.

DELICIOUS CORNISH HEN! Man, this place knows how to do fried chicken. We were craving Savoy on a Sunday and had to find a substitute since they're not open that day. Came across Dong Nguyen on my bookmarks and have heard great things about their hai nam style chicken, Cornish hen, and beef cubes. We came around 1pm and were seated immediately. We decided to get all 3 plates they're known for and shared it amongst the 3 of us. We got the full cornish hen instead of half and I am SO GLAD we did. Let me start by saying that their fried chicken is the most delicious Asian style fried chicken I've had. It's super crispy, no breading, amazing light sauce flavor, and juicy meat. They provide a side of limes to squeeze onto salt and pepper for dip. Straight fire! The hai nam style chicken was great as well, I would say the highlight of the dish was definitely the rice. It had great chicken and ginger flavor which was super comforting. The chicken was juicy and tender, sauce was also really tasty. The cubed beef dish with red rice was forgettable - it was really heavy on the sauce and beef wasn't anything great or exciting.

Quality still the same throughout the years. Service is pretty quick, and prices are reasonable. Famous of their Hainan chicken rice, so be sure to try it here, if you never had it before.

I like their shakey beef with ketchup fried rice. Good Hainan chicken also. The soup, on the other hand, scares me. There's probably quite a bit of MSG in their food so avoid this place if you are sensitive to MSG.

3.5 Star. Overall. Good enough for a homey, next-door, quick meal if happen to pass by or grocery shopping in the plaza. But not special enough to go out of my way to dine here. 3.5 Star. Complimentary Soup. Light and refreshing. 3.75 Star. 8 #1 Hai Nam Style House Chicken with Rice Meat is a little dry. Sauce is strong on the ginger and lightly strong on the sweetness. It’s a good dish. But if forced to compare to Savoy’s, sorry Savoy’s is still far better on meat, rice and sauce. 3.5 Star. 8.50 #46 Beef stew with egg noodle soup Not that visually appealing but tastes pretty decent. Beef is fairly soft and chewy for the most part. Flavor is good but not that extraordinary. 5 Star. 3 Plum soda Sprit mixed with salty sour mushed up pickled plum. Not bad. Would order again. Disclaimer: this salty sour and sweet soda is likely not for everyone though.

This was my childhood food restaurant. It's been always good to me for almost my entire life. The service is good, even though the employees have come to age. Come give it a try for a warm home feel and comfort food.
