Love the new outdoor setup! It's easy to order drinks - we've tried both their frozen drinks and hot toddies. Cocktails are still inventive and delicious. Tables outside are plentiful and spaced out. Service is friendly and accommodating. very delicious. Highly recommend this place to anyone who visit this town

I love Alley 26. It's a classic Durham hang. The 4 stars are due to my recent visit. The drinks were so-so and that's because of a couple things. I was shocked, actually. Every other time A26 is killer. Just a day that wasn't the A26 standard I was used to. However, this is an outlier, I'm sure. Best gin 'n tonic I've ever had. They have expanded their food menu and their cocktails are 2nd to none. There's currently no in-dining, due to the current Covid-climate but their outside Alley is perfectly situated for what you want.

I liked it. It's a very nice place with very well crafted drinks, however, what I liked the most was the food. Yes, their menu is super short, but the quality...WOW...it surprised me way more than the drinks. Oh...by the way...it is not expensive at all! Go. Give it a try. I'm sure you'll like it.

It’s so sad to see some of Durham’s original gems struggle with something they have control over. Alley Twenty Six has always been a long time favorite, but our last few experiences (pre-covid) have left more to be desired. The cocktails are spectacular, food is pretty decent, but when it comes to service, it’s a complete toss up: you never know what you’re going to get. Some of their staff is FANTASTIC, especially the servers, but a handful of the bartenders seem to forget they’re in the service industry. Such a shame, especially with increased competition. Luckily the good apples outweigh the bad, and their menu options and drink quality usually help make up for it. We’ll still keep going (hoping service returns to its original quality), and encourage other to do so as well... just set your expectations accordingly. Make sure to try the Mexican Herbalist! COVID UPDATE: the now offer takeout cocktails

I was craving for a gourmet burger, so I decided to get the alley 26 burger with foie gras. I was expecting more veggies but was a bit disappointed to see so few. The 8 Oz beef patty was great and the sauce was perfectly integrated to the buns. I'm not sure if they use duck or chicken liver for their foie gras, but there were only few tiny bits and I almost couldn't taste that it was there. Overall, a pricey burger for what you pay for, but the burger itself is delicious. Wouldn't recommend any additional options for the burger though.
