On 01/11/2021 at 10:00AM five firemen from fire station 1 responded to a call regarding alarm noise coming from our facility. Upon arrival none of the firemen wearing facemasks when entering the building. I asked all of them politely to please put on a mask. Three of the men did, one claimed not to have a mask so I provided a mask to him, and the other refused to wear it period; he would rather wait outside. First, I am astonished that a first responder who is trained to “Ensure the safety and welfare of the public” would rather wait outside than wear a mask and do his job. Second, I find it hard to believe that The Anaheim Fire and Rescue fire department doesn’t provide PPE or a mask to a fireman. The fireman that refused to wear the mask was Dennis P Biggins. He was asked multiple times to wear one, I could provide him one but he still refused. The facility they responded to has a total of 96 senior resident who call this place home, all over the age of 62. As stated on their website \Our mission is to ensure the safety and welfare of the public we serve through the fire and medical services we provide\ and “We stand ready to serve and protect as we respond to the needs of the community at all times providing exceptional fire and emergency services”. Unfortunately these firefighters fell short in representing Anaheim Fire and Rescue.
