This place is a great place to learn about the Alaskan Native Peoples. Unfortunately some of the exhibits are closed because of the virus. They do have an short outdoor walking trail that features many different native dwelling structures and a complete whale bone skeleton. It is definitely worth the visit.

We visited the Alaska Native Heritage Center while in Anchorage. This is an absolute must stop! The center is well laid out, tastefully presented and very informative. The presentation hall offers a variety of speakers every hour who proudly share their love for their culture. Traditional songs and dances were performed, with an opportunity for spectators to join in on the experience. The vast outside area allows for walking into the dwellings and lifestyle of the indigenous people of the area. At each stop, a guide is available to tell visitors of interesting tidbits. There are vendors that displays traditional and artisanal treasures if one is looking for souvenirs. There is also a formal gift shop. We spent about half a day there and felt more enriched for having visited. We loved the pride and importance of the place. Highly recommend it!
