Terrible ending to a great trip. We had a great trip up until the end. We had a flat tire on the last Morning. While I understand these things happen, it was the way Cruise America handled it. I called at 7:15am to report the tire, I waited hours to get a call back. I ended up calling the anchorage office and they told me to call my own tow truck and they’d reimburse me. They didn’t have any tools for me to replace the tire so I had to wait for a tow truck!! I can only imaging had this happen in an area without cell service, this is Alaska, most of the state doesn’t have coverage! Their customer service called me 2 hours later after I already called my own tow truck I get back to return it and there’s no compensation for my lost time at all. In fact, the manager Brett told me”I’m not going to dicker with you” when I wanted compensation. I will not be using them again and will be informing others of my terrible experience.

First it was advertised a special promotion but when I tried to check availability the promo codes on their own website did not work. Second I got in a chat with a service rep to ask if I could rent only 2 nights. He says “yes” but you will be charged for the 3 night. I said “if I’m charged for a 3rd night then it’s a “NO” his response? “it’s a yes, you will pay for 3 nights but can return it a day before, but you will still pay for the 3 nights” Is it me, or that’s the craziest answer I’ve heard from a customer service agent? Obviously will not be booking here, I might get charge for things I don’t request or use. I can just see their final bill “ charged for satellite channels, didn’t use it but it was available for you! Charged for guided tour- didn’t use it but it was available for you” I can go on and on, but I’ll just look for another rental company that makes more sense.
If you are considering renting a RV. DO NOT go anywhere near this lying rip-off place. I called to inquire renting a motor home to move my wife who has serious Parkinson’s from Alaska to Arizona. I was told I if I didn’t reserve it immediately that the price would increase, but I could cancel up to 7 days out. I decided to buy one instead 2 days later and tried to call and cancel. For several days, all I got was a recording saying he was on another call . Finally talked to a manager who said that I was never told I could get a refund and said he had a recording of everything we said. They are obviously a lying scam because if they had a recording they know what I was told . If they lied to me , they will lie to you. I repeat Do NOT RENT from these crooks under any circumstances.
