Great little state park with ample hiking trails and beautiful river sights. The trails go by ancient Native American ritual grounds as well as more modern alterations to the landscape. The visitor center is nice and the staff are great. There are multiple engaging programs one can partake in as well. Overall I enjoy this park and will continue to visit for many years.

It's just a nice simple state park. Plenty of trails to walk. Some historic buildings and native american sites. A campground. Areas the play, etc. There is also a nature center. We went on an October Tuesday at about 10am and it was not busy. The hikes are nice enough that we try to go at least once a month.

First time we checked mounds state park out. I took my 3 kids and a couple friends children (oldest being 10, youngest being 4) they all loved it! I didn't get to see all the awesomeness this park has to offer (with kids) but from what we did see was beautiful. We just moved to chesterfield so I will be back little by little to see all and hope to one day go in the bronnenberg family home..I love historic homes!

2nd time we have walked this park. There are 5 trails here, I think, and we intend to walk them all. We have only followed 2 so far. The trails are well maintained and very from paved and flat to rugged. Trail 5 is a perimeter trail and goes along the river for a while. There are also historical plaques about what, other than the Mounds, have been on the site.

A great little state park. While this isn't the biggest state park around it definitely is enjoyable and has some great hiking trails with some interesting history. This is also usually not crazy crowded like you'll see at Turkey Run so it's nice in that respect. The trails are pretty easy and you won't have anything too challenging here.
