Stopped in on a whim. Had my fishing gear in the back of my truck, found out it costs 25 to fish...I'm not into fishing that bad. So I just took my doggies for a walk around the lake. Nice setting, nice trail. If you do fish, there is a 4 fish limit, one pole limit, no catch and release. Kids 6 years and younger fish for free.

Gorgeous lake on the outskirts of Angel Fire. Took my 2 small dogs here in early August 2019 and it was a beautiful day with the temperature around low 70's and low humidity with small wind blowing! Fantastic experience!
Great fishing experience the permit process could be a little more expedited other than that good time!
Geary little recreational lake. Small and fun for the kids if you're visiting Angel Fire. 22 a day to fish for military. Paddle boats and the rest are around 30/hr.
They don't have Kayaks but still a good place to sit or a walk by the lake.
Cute little lake. Busy. People will be people, and on a busy weekend you see more self absorbed behavior. People ignore no parking signs. Overall beautiful, and the hike around it is great. Some friendly people, most vacationers are great. A few spoil the bunch.
It's a nice little fishing lake. Attendant on duty. It has a fish cleaning station and bathrooms on either side of the lake. It's stocked with trout. It was windy the day we went so we only caught one, but it was over 16 inches. It has a nice trail all the way around.
Nice clean little lake.
