They are very professional and always spring into action. Very helpful and friendly department. My wife lost her phone at Walmart on December 14, 2020, we reported the phone and Ankeny PD swung into action immediately. Within the hours they’re able to retrieve the phone and handed it to her. Great job and great service. Big THANK YOU to Ankeny PD.

I made a phone call to have police assistance with a disturbance of loud music. The dispatcher stated that an officer would be out. After over an hour the music was still as loud, so I called back. I was informed that there was an officer on site and the music could not be heard from outside. This is extremely unprofessional as I do not believe they ever came. The music can most definitely be heard from outside as it is loud enough to rattle the windows in my home. This is at 1145 p.m. and there are still people who work and need to get up early. I drive for a living and start my day around 2 a.m. Now I have to go to work and be a danger on the roadway because they no longer want to do their part in keeping the peace in our community.....

I called prior to coming here and was directed by Polk county sheriff to go to the police department to file a report. Once arrived still had to wait several minutes their door area which is hot as hell. Then we got an officer who just was rather bleek about helping with the report
