Well worth the trip! Forget eating downtown Ann Arbor...El Harissa is the spot for amazingly fresh flavors, worldly dishes, and tastes you won’t soon forget! The menu at this family run cafe is as unique as the beautiful handmade home goods and market items within. Order from a fabulous menu of Tunisian and Mediterranean dishes, then browse/shop goods in the market area such as olive oil, spices, handmade pottery, linens, and colorful gift items. The hummus was creamy and whipped to perfection. The lentil soup was hearty. The lablabi (chickpea dish) and meatballs were perfectly spiced and seasoned. We ate every last bite of everything ordered. Make sure to try the assortment of gelatos and sorbets. The baklava gelato is as magical as it sounds. We will certainly be returning to El Harissa during our next visit to Ann Arbor, and many visits to come. This is a great casual lunch or dinner spot for locals and visitors of AA. You will not regret a single item on the menu!

just \discovered\ this wonderful eatery in our part of town. We'll be going back to check out cooking spices and what not. We had lentil soup, grape leaves, harissa dip, Chicken Chermoula (tender and succulent with a great sauce to go with) and the Merguez Meatballs and everything was great. My wife went and picked the stuff up and came back charmed with the place. Highly recommended.
