It's okay because the food is usually ok. And they used to make it easy to get identification, but now its harder. And also for Ann Arbor the shelter is small and there is a waiting list to get in there.... Yes a waiting list for a emergency shelter. This is only addressing a small fraction of the homeless population. Ann Arbors solution is to give you a tent. Far beyond the standard that you would think that would be in Ann Arbor

Cant wait til my foundation is putting this place out of business for good!! #patrickshirleypetsandpeoplefoundation
The shelter provides a safe, clean place to stay when life leaves you homeless. They also have health services and are a great resource center. There are free meals for anyone at Noon and 5 pm on weekdays and 3 pm on weekends.
I never thought I'd have to use a shelter, but this place is awesome!!! The staff. Travis Olivia, Mary Ann and Amy are absolutely fantastic
The staff actually cares. All the social workers actually do work. The food is tasty and nutritious. The beds are comfortable. They help with bus tokens. There's a Narcotics Anonymous mtg here on Sundays. Many of the staff are in recovery and can connect you with others in the recovering community. The AAATA bus comes right to the front door. This was the last house in the block, so to speak, for me and it's helped me get my life back!!
