This place is amazing, I came in August and from the moment I arrived ppl embraced me and treated me like family. Mr. Kevin does what it takes to make sure you have a great time and everything is enjoyable. Don't expect this place to be a luxury like Sleeping Bear Dunes or something. This is a beautiful camp ground with many great things to see beautiful trails the lake is peaceful you can fish, the sandpit is cool as well And it has a park for kids. This is so far one of the best I have been too I have to return. Kevin is a great guy!

Kevin is an awesome host. He's very upfront and honest and impossible not to like. Our camp site was awesome. Kevin gave us a choice in sites but recommend the one we choose which was great. There was non potable water on the site which was nice because the restroom facilities, portapots and a very dirty disgusting shower house, were unacceptable. So we did a wash off with the water at our site each night. Your on squad dirt bike trail so it's dusty. Kevin sells wood which met our needs each night for a reasonable price 5. There were included canoes which we used and were great. The life jackets and such were there but looked abandoned from years past. I'm new to camping but so far I think a decent shower house with a camp site is all we want need. There was basically no bathroom or shower house here but nice camp sites. This was a nice base for going to save dunes and other trails tho.
We stay here for our family camp this year. I was nervous cause we haven't ever actually camped at a campground and this one was an hour away from home. But once we got there honestly two days wasn't long enough for our family. It went by so fast. We definitely plan to come back. The owner of the campground Kevin is very friendly and helpful. He has some rules but honestly that made our experience better. We definitely had a good time!
In the beginning it was great!!! Love the woods, greeted by a welcoming man, showed us where to camp and explained the rules. We left for a few hours and came back. Unfortunately there were no signs to show us where to go and went down the wrong way. One our way out this small area a grumpy old man stood at the end of the exit stopping us from leaving. Told him to get out of the way, and he just stood there and motioned me to get out of my truck. At first I told my wife DO NOT GET OUT. For several seconds he did not move so I then Got out of my truck and had a few choice words with him as he DID NOT announce who he was. He then says we were going 30 mph on the trails and told us to leave. But still stood in front of my truck. We then called the police and while speaking to dispatch was told they have had many problems in the past. We were going to wait for the police but chose not to as we did not trust the old guy that stood in front of my truck. We packed up and left with no incident and found a place at Ivan's Campground that welcomed us despite the late hour (10 o'clock). Before I wrote this I started out that we loved the woodsy campground...and I will not deny that. Nor the young man who showed us in. Don't know if the old guy was the owner but will not be going there until he is gone and will tell all my coming friends.
Pulled in for a quick night. Quiet and friendly. Kevin met us at the site about an hour or two after we pulled in. We will be back! Beach was small but nice. Secluded sites. Only hooked up electric as we are pretty self contatained but seen many water hydrants.
Contacted office and after a very strange interaction, they asked me to call back. When I did I was declined a stay, and when I asked why, they didn't answer and quickly hung up the phone. Very strange interaction. The owner or whoever I spoke to was temperamental and hard to understand over the phone but that didn't bother me. I'm a frequent camper and have never had issues before. I would not recommend this place based on the pure strangeness of the phone call, inconvenience and all for no apparent reason. UPDATE** Their rebuttal is below, you can gather for yourselves, their message is a bit belittling and strange... To which I replied with this, I attached a photo of my "homeless, old rundown camper". And where they get jobless and homeless from is beyond me. Clearly these people are not normal.
We spent the long 4TH of July weekend celebrating our independence here and it was a "BLAST". Kevin is a very accommodating host. he had a dirt site that was level with water and electric. We will be back for sure
Beautiful rustic place to enjoy tranquility ️
