Betsy Twigg is fantastic. We purchased our first home in Arlington with her, and the entire experience went perfectly, from our first, extremely helpful in-person meeting in April, to our uncomplicated and expertly executed closing on our new home last week. Throughout the process, she truly listened to us and carefully considered our wants and needs in every regard, and offered thoughtful, honest advice and support as we navigated the competitive North Arlington real estate market. And when we found the house we wanted, she crafted the offer that ultimately beat out three competing bids to get it (without going a bit over budget). We couldn't be happier with her. She's an Arlington pro. Funny too, which helps.

Since Zillow reviews are limited to those who have retained a realtor, and not other parties to real estate sales or transactions, this is the only way I can register my disappointment with the performance of Betsy Twigg of McEnearney Associates. In the spring of 2019 Ms Twigg represented the buyers of a home I was selling in Burke, VA. After spending tens of thousands of dollars to prepare the home for sale, we were expecting a smooth transaction. In fact, we received four offers at or above asking price within four days of listing. We accepted the offer of Ms Twigg’s clients, but her hardball tactics threatened to destroy the sale almost from the start. My realtor found it odd that she had not called him to alert him that an offer was coming. Plus she submitted the offer on an out of date form. But perhaps her most offensive action was her reaction to our report of damage to the home caused by the buyers’ home inspection. According to my realtor, she reacted with rage. According to the buyer and inspector, she also did not report the damage to them. In the end it was the most contentious RE transaction I had ever experienced, thanks largely to Ms Twigg’s unprofessional tactics. As a result, we decided to not convey a refrigerator, washer, dryer and lawnmower that we were considering, even though we were not contractually obligated to do so. We also declined to meet directly with the buyers (and their realtor) at settlement. So, I would not recommend Ms Twigg to anyone buying or selling a house.
