I’ve used Home Energy Medics twice in the last five years and have been extremely happy with the results. In January 2021, they put insulation in my exterior walls where none had existed in my 100-year old building. The able crew completed additional tasks on my “to do” list (among them adding closet doors in my bedroom) and repainted all the walls in the two rooms in which they had worked leaving me completely enthralled. I recommend High Energy Medics highly to make your home more energy efficient (read lower energy bills). The outfit is extremely knowledgeable and the workers are considerate and Covid 19-sensitive. I live on the first floor of a DC row house that has been converted into a two floor quadplex condo. We all have wood floors which created a \drum-like\ effect when my upstairs neighbors walked around. During the pandemic, I felt like a fifth roommate because I could hear where they were at almost all times. The sound installation has made a big difference. I no longer hear when me neighbors get out of bed in the middle of the night, when they dog walks around. and can hang out in my living room during the day. The sound that does get through is muffled and \distant\. This work is not cheap but it has definitely raised my quality of life and improved my prospects to rent/sell this property in the future. I was impressed with the professionalism and attention to detail shown by these guys as my ceilings appear almost exactly the same as they did before the work.
We were very happy with the overall energy audit and the recommendations to improve our home’s comfort, and the final outcome. As someone who is “always cold” during the winter months, I am especially thankful to finally feel comfortable inside our home. Mr. McKnight was very thorough in his inspection and pointed out areas of our home where we are losing air. He was very diligent about testing our home and explained his finding along the way. Lastly, he let us know what we could probably do ourselves and what we needed to get others to do for us.
Very positive experience. The house had insulation issue that resulted in uneven heat distribution. Had no idea where to start. Other contractors weren't able to diagnose the issue. Home Energy Medics did a complete audit of the situation, provided an engagement plan to tackle the issues, and completed the work on time. Would definitely work with again and highly recommend. It's been about six months since the repairs and the temperature of the house was comfortable despite extreme summer heat and cold winter ice.
