*Important update*: WITH SADNESS AND A BROKEN HEART , I REALLY HATE TO REPORT TO YOU THAT THE RESTAURANT HAS CLOSED FOR GOOD. Owner whom I know really well had cited decision was very tough but after two years of devoted and dedicated service at the location, the customers turnout didn’t offset the operational cost. Limited parking was a major issue for many customers and was one of the main factors for deciding to shutdown. He decided to close this particular location and is hoping to look for a better location elsewhere. ———————————— Certainly the best and truly authentic Yemenite cuisine you can find in the entire continental USA (if you’re familiar with the Yemenite cuisine). And this rating comes from someone who’s very familiar with this type of unique cuisine. The food quality and type is top notch gourmet. That gets 5 stars . Best dish for me is Burmah (lamb stew). Also, most lamb-related items are highly recommended. They also have the fish on rice option; something to die for. They also have other vegetarian options as well. The owner is super amazing, generous, and welcoming and really makes you feel at home.

Sometimes you just want to keep a secret, with House of Mandi it will be sinful not to share that secret. This is a gem of a place. Yemeni food like Bahraini, Omani, Iraqi and Iranian. Blend the best of South East Asian spice, and combine these wonderful different spices into a mixture called “Baharat”. A subtle blend of otherwise outwardly spices combined together to make a unique mild blend that are so discernible with the food. Many blends of baharat. Each made for certain dishes, exquisite blends marrying into the food, each complimenting the other, a Ying yang equality of flavors. Every three months, my nightly dreams makes my journey from NJ to Arlington just to eat at this incredibly simple yet profoundly satisfying food that nourishes the SOUL. The secret is out. Enjoy every morsel.

A superb lunch experience! We absolutely loved this place. The servers were friendly and efficient. Our food was incredible. When we arrived there was a huge party wrapping up, but the host let us come in and grab a booth on the side. First time eating Yemeni in the area. Go here now. Do it.

Yesterday during our visit to DC and Arlington we started looking for a new place to visit and check their food, so after searching for a while we decided to try House of Mandi and that was a good decision. :) The Location is surrounded by couple of parking space so it wasn't hard to find an empty spot. The Restaurant is nicely decorated and from the moment we entered the lovely smell of Oud took me back to the 90's memories when I visited Yemen with my parents, it's such an amazing feeling. The server Mohammed was so friendly and welcoming, he was so patient to explain to us some details about some dishes that we didn't try before and then he handled our order carefully and professionally. We ordered Marag (Soup) which was super good, Lamb Mandi (comes with flavorful rice), Lamb Bormah (3 pieces of meet dipped in an amazing soup and it comes with rice), we also ordered an appetizer sampler (Green Salad, Yogurt and bread, Zahawik (tradional Yemeni Spicy souce). All the food we ordered was simply amazing, it was 3 in 1, it looked great, smelled really good and tasted so yummy. Finally we ordered our favorite thing, Karak tea and chapati bread and that was great and reminded us of Qatar :) This place is a must to visit if you want to have some authentic and tasty food of Yemen. Btw, the owner came to each table and asked everyone if they were happy and satisfied which I really like.

The food here at House Of Mandi was exceptional! This is the absolutely best place if you want to experience the fine taste and great flavor of authentic yemeni cuisine. I ordered the foul, which are basically fava beans topped off with olive oil, I also got the chapati which is a special bread made with extra butter, and last but not least I also got the karak with milk, which is hands down the absolutely best tea I have ever tried in my life. Another thing that I absolutely love, is you get unlimited free bread with your meal. This place could be a bit on the pricey side but it is still worth every dollar. The service here was great, very nice servers and speedy arrival time for the food!

Great menu choices. The kaltah was delicious. I'd eat the tanoor and hummus every day.
