This is a \tough love\ style program with a mixture of criminal offenders who have been court ordered to get therapy. They do a good job at what they do and they deserve a lot of credit for doing so. They do not offer any kind of an inpatient program. Even though their approach and style of therapy was far from optimal for my gf, she is still clean and is better off overall now than when she started over a month ago. We are so proud of her for sticking with it this long even though it was very difficult. We are finding a more appropriate setting for her elsewhere, something with more activities, that offers life skills training and housing while she is a patient. Thank you to the people at Phoenix Associates for helping her stay on a better track for the past month and for the valuable services you provide to help others.

Told them I would not be able to attend certain meetings because of my work schedule and they told me their meetings come BEFORE work. I guess they are paying my bills. Oh also I told them their program was killing my mental health and they told me they didn’t care. But take at your own risk.

Was forced to go to counseling here for 12 months aftercare as part of parole. 6 months of 3 hour groups per week and 6 months peer support 1 hour per week. The first 6 months I paid 5/group and 10 every other week for one on one with counselor. Come to find out I didn't have to pay because the State of Texas pays for each individual whether or not you pay. Doubling up on people that actually do pay. Average of 10 people per group. You do the math.

If you notice, the individuals saying negative things are all on criminals on parole or probation. Some of these folks have no intention of changing. I’ve known the staff at Phoenix Associates for many years. Most are in recovery themselves and really do care about each and every client.

This is a therapeutic community that produces results, challenges behavior, and redirects the negatives into positives with tools and comprehensive counseling.
