This is a terrible facility. Their poor management of the Covid crisis resulted in many, many unnecessary deaths, including my Dad's. *Every time I called to ask about his condition, I talked with a different nurse. Many of these nurses were per diem and didn't know the residents. They were unclear as what his course of treatment would be. * Nursing staff turnover at this home has been a major problem for several years. * Residents waited far too long for a Covid test. The facility had the swabs and refused to have the nurses take the samples. If they had done this many deaths could have been avoided. * This facility is far too small to avoid transmission of anything contagious. The room are super small with two residents in a room. * During activities the residents are crammed together with literally no space between them. *Tray tables and activities materials are not routinely cleaned. *The nursing assistants are often very rude to the residents and family members. They are often on their cell phones or talking among themselves rather than to the residents. If you care about your family member choose another place.

When our mom arrived at the Armenian Nursing and Rehabilitation Center she a very sick lady. Within weeks of her arrival, she began to thrive. She received wonderful care from the entire staff, be it nursing, personal care, dietary, activities, therapists, custodial or administration. She was not just \that lady\ she was Yester. Yester was always well dressed and well groomed. Anytime there was a change in her status we were immediately notified. Prior to the pandemic, we could visit at anytime, there were daily activities, there often was entertainment and there were weekly religious services. The staff at ANRC was Yester's family when we could not be with her. It is without hesitation, that we recommend the Armenian Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Please, please do not bring your family member to this facility. They lost 40 % or more of their residents to Covid 19. I understand this was and continues to be a big challenge for all nursing homes, but they did too little too late to keep transmission down. Before my Dad passed away from Covid (and he was doing so well) it was impossible to get any information from anyone. Everyday there was a new nurse on his unit (staffing is a big problem at this facility). If you care you'll take your loved one elsewhere.
My father spent the last 29 months of his life at ANRC, working through the final stages of the dementia that finally ended his long and great life. Those last years were hard for him and for us -- even with all the resources in the Boston area, it quickly became clear that there isn't an abundance of good care for dementia patients. We were lucky to get connected to ANRC. My Dad loved people, and even with his disease, he lived for joking with people and making others laugh. The staff at ANRC loved him back -- the nurses, Vanessa, Evan, Matt; the CNAs especially Mama; the kitchen staff; so many people at ANRC who delivered great care for Dad -- on his good days and his bad days -- and became dear to us.
The staff is so warm and competent. The facility is always clean. No doubt the population is very old and compromised. However, each and every resident is treated with kindness and respect. The staff is well versed in pain management which enables the residents to feel comfortable. This place is a gem.
