Attended event yesterday. Got there a bit after 12:30 so parking lot was very full so be prepared to walk a bit. Standard admission with .50 coupon. Arts and Crafts? More like a jewelry show to me. Lots of bling with same crystal jewelry from alot of vendors. If that interests you...you would be happy. Not much in the way of Easter decor which surprised me. If you are looking to decorate would do much better at Home Goods or TJ Maxx. Foodwise there were a variety of vendors. Wine, mead, candy, coffee cakes, balsamic dressing, nut rolls, cookies, kettlecorn. Goodies for your dogs too. Andersen windows? Gutter helmet? Seriously??? People there is a difference between HOME SHOW and CRAFT SHOW! That brings me to this question....Where are the true craftspeople nowadays? You used to go to these events and find unique pieces not mass manufactured items that you can buy from LTD catalogs or at Ollies (btw.....I stopped there after and saw a few of the same small flags that were being sold for 11.95 at the show for 2.99!) While there I saw perhaps 10 booths that in my opinion were true craftspeople and not simply vendors reselling merchandise. Some vendors clearly were buying from same manufactuer because items were identical. Some vendors never even bothered taking off original manufacturer tags. When I go to these events I am looking for unique one of a kind items and not these catalog items! The convention center is a good venue with free parking and fairly easy to get to. If you need to eat there be prepared to pay. You will get better food outside with better options for the price. Will I be back? It's a toss up. It was a quick on the spot decision to go today. After attending today, this show is nothing I would be marking my calendar in anticipation for next year.
