We've been using BrightStar to care for my Dad at Ashby Ponds. The staff has been very responsive and positive and I'd recommend them. In particular, Lilian has been a real joy with my Dad: she is gentle and sweet but is also super competent and skilled. Lilian knows when to give Dad a little rest but also when to push him a little to keep up with this activity level. She always arrives with a smile and has a calming and upbeat personality.

My mom, an 85-year old resident of Ashby Ponds Senior Living Community, has been using BrightStar Care of Ashburn, VA for over a year now and couldn’t be happier with their services. We first contacted BrightStar when she started to feel unsafe showering alone and began to have trouble with light household tasks, like washing and folding laundry. A nurse and another care team member came to her home the next day to better assess her needs and to discuss the types of care she might benefit from. My mom started receiving help that same week and has continued ever since. The caregivers that assist her are prompt, professional and experienced in providing personal and companion care. They are also kind and compassionate, and mom says they can be a lot of fun as well! She’s especially fond of Katherine and Veronica, and has been afforded their help on a regular basis when they’re available. If mom has a question or needs a schedule change, her care coordinator Jessica and staff are just a phone call away, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and they’re always courteous, professional and happy to assist. I highly recommend BrightStar Care for anyone who can use help at home.

Theresa Jurczuk is an outstanding caretaker for my mother. She goes above and beyond in making sure my mom's daily needs are met. She is patient and kind. She takes my mom on outings for lunch and groceries. She talks with my mom and is a true companion. She drove my mom to my house for Thanksgiving so the family could be together. She takes care of the laundry, she cooks and she keeps up the house. She goes for walks with my mom to ensure that she gets some exercise. She is very good about communicating with me and keeps me apprised of my mom's health and well-being. I have peace of mind each and every day knowing that Theresa is watching over my mom.
