Needed a short term equipment rental. Staff were helpful, considerate and cooperative. Recommend this dive shop.

I just completed my open water certification with Mountains to Sea and it was an amazing experience! From my first visit to the shop Mike was so professional and helpful. I went to the shop to get my code and gear and they had all the colors I could want as well as the quality I needed. After completing the course work, Mike took me to the pool where we worked all the skills I would need to pass the course. He made sure I was completely comfortable before my head went under water. After I completed this, we took a trip to Florida. SO MUCH FUN! I had the most amazing experience diving with Mike and Shawn, (another teacher) two other students, and a handful of other certified divers (my mother and grandparents included)! I am very happy to have my certification to be able to dive anywhere with anyone, but will continue to travel and dive with Mountains to Sea anytime they allow me to come along! And if anyone is considering going through the course in winter like me, do not worry! The high quality, warm, wet suits may have been the best part!

The instructor was very arrogant and impatient. Getting OW was difficult at a boat ramp with wind and waves, and muddy water. The class should have been postponed. Instead of taking time to help me with proper buoyancy, he added excess weight- almost 20#’s- and I never even went underwater! I waited on the boat ramp while he dove with the other student- doing his complete OW that one day- the guy had no pool instruction whatsoever. The student was shivering being in the cold water so long. It is important to trust your instructor, but I was not comfortable at all. Save your money. Go to Florida. I did my OW easily without any problem, and did the recommended dives by the book. We started in a spring, and also did boat dives, with a very professional dive shop intent on helping every student achieve their goals- not saying they would just fail people! And most dive shops in Florida have their own pool- no driving to a local gym miles away. What a difference it was having an instructor who wanted to actually teach, not act like I was an inconvenience. It was a financial disaster- don’t waste your money. After standing onshore for what seemed like hours, I had had enough. A total waste of money, and no refund offered. S. Hughes

I had a fantastic experience getting my open-water certification with Mountains to the Seas Scuba. Mike and his team are absolutely amazing. From being super flexible and accommodating with my training schedule, to the encouragement and attention given during my dives- they are professionals with a personal touch. Mike and his team go above and beyond to make sure that their students feel safe in the water and by the end of my training, they made me feel like a confident scuba diver and a member of the “Mountains to the Seas” family. I highly recommend them to anyone wanting to learn to scuba dive. The Gray Quarry that they use for their dives is a beautiful place to learn as well. Being a certified open-water scuba diver is a goal that I had had for a while, and I will always be grateful to these wonderful people for helping me reach that goal!

Mike and his team are fantastic. they have showed my son and I a whole new way of life. all the information and training is presented in a brilliant environment that supplies the ease and comfort you need when starting something so new. Mike and Holt we're both there for my son and I to learn this amazing new skill. there was no giant class to get lost in. it was as one on one as you could get. I can't imagine learning this any other way. patient knowledgeable professional and just an outstanding fun crew. my son and I felt like part of a family not customers. mountains-to-sea scuba is the whole package. I know that my son and I have found a new home and family with Mike and his crew. If you've ever thought about Scuba even for a second you need to give Mike a call. you won't regret it your life will only get better.

BEST PLACE TO LEARN. I really enjoyed learning from Mike and Carol. They are very patient and very supportive. They brake everything down where you can learn and have fun learning. I HIGHLY recommend them. They also had everything you need to start diving at the dive shop. I love this place.

If I could give this company negative stars, I would. My interactions with Mike at Mountains to Seas Scuba started out fine but then turned very ugly on his end. I contacted him in the summer to schedule my PADI open water certification course to take place in mid September. Less than a week before my class I contacted him to confirm logistical details and received a response (5 days before my scheduled class!) that he was unable to follow through with the class that weekend due to issues that he had known about 2 weeks prior. I understand emergencies/accidents/random events happen but he could have and should have let me know earlier. Anyways, I tried to reschedule with him but our schedules just weren't aligning and so after many many emails back and forth I finally decided to just request a refund and figure this out with another company. Mike turned from aloof to condescending and downright rude. He refused to refund my money. He presumed reasons for my inability to commit to certain dates that just were not true and, frankly, were not any of his business. I finally felt so agitated with his nasty responses and refusing to refund my money that I filed a claim with my credit card company, and won (obviously, I mean this guy was being ridiculous).

I just can't say enough about Mike and his team at Mountains to the Seas. From the moment my fiance and I walked into his shop we felt at home. There was no pressure, and Mike was more than happy to sit and chat with us and answer every question and concern we had to make us feel comfortable. He is so knowledgeable and is a fantastic teacher. He is funny and will tell you if you do something wrong but uses a lot of positive reinforcement and you can tell he genuinely is excited to see you learn and grow as a diver. He and Carole make you feel like part of a family. Carole even cooked some delicious ginger snaps for my fiance on our final day of open water certification. In the short time we have been training with Mike, we have learned so much and already feel so much more confident about diving. We are so excited to see what comes next! Thanks for everything Mountains to the Seas...you have a made a dream of mine a reality!
