There is only one good thing about ikon and it is the maintenance, they respond quickly and are very friendly when they come to answer a request. Other than that, the staff at Ikon is nice but they do not ever have any information. Half the time you cannot even get anyone in the front office to answer the phone. I have lived here since August, it is currently February and all of the amenities are still closed other than the gym which is only open from the hours of 11-4 and you have to schedule an appointment for their set times. I have asked many times to be flexible with the schedule- lets say I need to go at 11am and be done by 11:45 but they only have a time slot for 11:30-12:30...they are not accommodating, they will not allow you in. This is an apartment complex for college students who have crazy class schedules which mostly consume the middle of the day-which is the only time Ikon has appointments available for the gym. I understood not opening everything right away after move in due to COVID, but now they are using it as an excuse to keep everything closed to make life easier for them. Every other apartment complex in Athens has all amenities open to residents 24/7. The staff at Ikon also will not reach out to corporate on behalf of the residents complaints instead they tell us to do it and do not even have a name for us to reach out to. They also have not communicated the two break ins which happened this month. One of which being my friend who lives here- got his car stolen, PS5 and Xbox. All of which Ikon did not help with or let any of the residents know this was happening. Overall very disappointing when we pay so much money and do not get to use any of the things we pay for except our own units. Even though upon move in we signed a COVID waiver....

I wanted to love Ikon, but never again! My first few months there, there was always roaches downstairs in the common living area, some days it was bad some days it was okay. Maintenance would come and “fix” whatever needed to be fixed, but it really was still broke (my toilet). Staff takes forever to respond to emails and you get lucky if there is a response. And for final move out we were charged for something that was already broken when we moved in and called maintenance to fix it of course, and they didn’t. I personally do not recommend living at Ikon, it’s not worth it.

Ikon has been a great place to live, out off all the places to live in Athens you get the most for what you pay for. Everyone in the office is nice but if you want to talk to someone that can get something done it is almost impossible. Having maintenance requests open for 5 months and having to beg to get things fixed is ridiculous. I always thought my word was respected here but last night I had my car broken into, the gates have been open for weeks and after I told them to please close them for the safety of the residents they said they have to stay open for another until they can get everyones keys to work, so here goes a week of praying my car or house doesn't get robbed again. Ikon needs to get better management, security, and be better at listening to the residents.

If you’re going to college for college, this isn’t the place for you. They advertise security, the gate was broken for over five months straight. Strangest thing, cars continuously get broken in to. If you have a maintenance request, go ahead and put it in at least three months before your stuff breaks. Maybe you’ll get lucky and find a parking spot, they offer discounted rates to the swim team and they leave their mopeds strewn all over the place. Purchase noise canceling devices prior to moving in, unless you enjoy music blaring from three to 10 different units at the same time every single night. Don’t worry about that roommate compatibility questionnaire, they’re just going to cram you in with the next applicant anyways, even if you have a cat and they have a dog. Keep getting that money for nothing. Thank you Ikon for inviting me to participate in the free gift card for posting a positive review of your fabulous “Student Housing”. For the “management” that reads this save the obligatory, “If you would have come to us first” or “please call and we can discuss” responses. I probably have over 20 no response email/phone calls from the “management”. Therefore, no “excuse” will make up for it and no response will even be necessary.
