The Farm School is an institution focused on rekindling the love story between people, community, and place. Founded in preparation for my generation, I've known the Farm School intimately at every stage of my life. As a child, I'd attend the Program for Visiting Schools every couple months. In middle school, I attending their Tracking Way Weekends. After high school, I attended their Practical Farm Training Program at Maggie's Farm and taught math to the Chicken Coop middle school students. Since then I've gone on to a career in the local food and economy movement, and if I had to choose the one most impactful influence in inspiring this course I've set, it would have to be the farm school. I've grown up with farmers as my rock stars [and at Farm School, some of them literally are]. Farm School is the kind of place that inspires a beautiful and vibrant future for our world and our relationship with land.

I attended the year long Learn to Farm apprentice program and it fundamentally changed my life. The LTF program helped me refine my passions within agriculture, introduced me to amazing mentors and friends, and taught me tangible skills that allowed me to turn a dream into a reality. I run my own farm now (Nest and Song Farm) and I wouldn't have been able to do that without the Farm School!!

The Farm School was one of the best, challenging, rewarding, and wonderful experiences for me. The Learn to Farm program pushed me beyond what I thought I could do, and I'm still amazed at how many things I learned from carpentry to growing. It will always be a precious memory for me and a wonderful community that feels like another home.
