Usually I hate going to the dentist's office. It’s not because I don’t like my teeth cleaned and fixed, I definitely do. I just get super anxious about what the doctor could tell me is wrong with my teeth and what I need to have done to them. A couple months back my old dentist told me I needed to have a filling, and I was so nervous because I had never had a potential cavity before. She then told me that she knows a dentist named Dr. Greissinger who could do my fillings and took my insurance. I decided to call and make an appointment with Dr. G because she was in my network and my old dentist wasn’t. When I went to Ansley Midtown Dental, I was very impressed with all the precautions they were taking because of Covid. The front desk had glass in front of it, they had limited furniture out so there was more room to social distance in the waiting room, all the staff had on protective gear plus were whipping down everything, and they had curtains up dividing all the rooms. I felt very safe being in the office and knew that they would make sure I was taken care of. Dr. G explained to me how the process would work when I sat in the chair. After she numbed me up and started working, I could still feel some pain and right away she gave me some more numbing stuff and after that I couldn’t feel a thing. Dr. G made my first time in her office and first time filling a positive experience. Once I finished my appointment, I went up to the front desk and I believe Max was the woman who helped me set up my next cleaning appointment and walk me out. Overall, Ansley Midtown Dental made me feel safe and cared for. I am actually not dreading my next dental appointment!

Beware!!! They are going to OVERCHARGE you and insurance won’t cover it!!! They don’t check with your insurance for covered benefits and and going to add services you didn’t ask for. For example, insted of bitewing xray they will do full mouth panoramic and insurance won’t cover it. I asked them before doing xray if insurance will cover it and they said don’t worry, it will be covered. And guess what? It wasn’t!!!! A lot of people mentioned 40 covid charge! You go there 4 times, you will get 40 every time. Ridiculous! I’m done with this practice and I don’t recommend it to anyone!!!

I have been with Ansley dental for more than 8 years. It’s always been a pleasant experience. Cordial staff and good service. Until I received a bill for 40 for PPE. I called to check on this payment and I was told that an email was sent (which I did not receive) and I was told that if I did not read it then it’s on me. The attitude frustrated me. Clearly, For me, it’s not the question of 40, but the fact that I am held responsible and blamed for something I should not even be involved in. The person I spoke with had the audacity to tell me that restaurants charge for PPE. What an analogy comparing critical medical and dental services to something non essential. Overall, I think that Ansley dental is damaging its well earned reputation. My son and I have decided to move to different clinic.

Like many have said here recently, they are charging a 40 fee for PPE per visit (that insurance doesn’t cover). Also, they’re only doing partial cleanings. To be clear, I understand the reasoning behind these decisions. However, my wife and I both spoke with them on the phone on several occasions to schedule and confirm our appointments, but at no point were either of these stipulations mentioned. Only upon getting to the dentist was the partial cleaning brought up (not ideal, but insurance covers 100% of routine cleanings so something is better than nothing), but then a week later two bills came in for the PPE expenses. In fairness, I contacted billing who informed me an email was sent out a week in advance with this information. I had missed it though (as I’m sure several others have, too). However they had multiple chances for them to mention the service/fees over the phone or in the office, but they didn’t. The actual dentistry service has always been good, which makes this interaction even more frustrating.

Used to be a great dentist. They are clearly overcharging these days. They appear to be more about the money, than the actual care. It used to not be that way.
