Small, intimate, and definitely been there for awhile from the look of it. A quintessential 'hole-in-the-wall' eatery that you absolutely MUST try. This place was recommended to us by several locals so we hit them up around 2 p.m. for lunch and it was still packed with a crowd. You order at the counter, then take a seat with a number to have your food brought to you once it's ready. The cashier moved quickly and the menu was easy to navigate (on the wall). They use a mustard based barbecue sauce, which has a tangy flavor. The chicken fell right of the bone and the ribs were cooked perfect. It's a small location with indoor and outdoor seating. Inside seating is limited to a handful of tables. Overall: A Great local barbecue joint you should definitely try out! The ribs are a must!

The food was absolutely perfection. The ribs were succulent and tender. The flavor of the ribs was a true smokehouse flavor. I ordered mac n cheese, potato salad and Rum baked beans with a fruit punch. Cold beverage and hot food!! I did order dessert however they forgot to put my 2 slices of sweet potato pies in the bag so I can not tell you about the flavor consistency or texture. Perhaps, if I ever go back I will try the Pie. So the drawback is no pie and out of 7 bucks. Check your bag(s) before you leave!!
Masks are required, outside dining is available. My first visit. A friend recommended Fat Matt's as the best BBQ in Atlanta. It was good and the rib meat was very tender, but it was not the best. I expected the meat to have a good smokey flavor, but neither the ribs nor the pulled pork had much smoke flavor. I assume the pulled pork is simmering in a pot with BBQ sauce already mixed in. The regular sides are a bit small, but the meat portions are good. The service was friendly and fast on a Saturday afternoon.
Great food and service. Been here twice, once before pandemic and once during for take out. Meat still falls right off the bone!
THE BEST BBQ IN ATLANTA! I will be coming back, this week! Pictures will not do this place justice, you just have to try it. I never completely finish anything and nothing was left. I got the 1/4 slab & chicken combo w/ mac & baked beans.
