Our mission is to provide the highest quality psychiatric and behavioral care to the meet the needs of the children and families we serve. Laurel Heights specializes in the treatment of children and adolescents with complex psychiatric and behavioral problems. The facility offers several residential treatment units separated by age and gender, a separate residential program for children with autism and a specialty acute inpatient unit for children with co-occurring neurodevelopmental disabilities. Our treatment staff includes child and adolescent psychiatrists, medical staff, clinicians, behavior analysts, a psychologist, recreation therapists, educators and allied health professionals who assess the needs of each child and with input from the family develop an individualized treatment plan. don't send your loved ones to this place. they abuse their patients and they have no regard for safety or actually helping their patients. they had such a horrible security system that my loved one was able to escape the facility at night and no one noticed they were gone until the next morning. they give borderline lethal doses of sedatives to patients considered rowdy and then lock them in tiny closets. if you want your family or friends to get help, send them somewhere else. if you truly care about helping someone, you'll send them anywhere except this horrible place. my loved one had multiple broken bones upon arrival and was never even treated for them. not even pain killers. if you decide to send your loved one here, they can and will come back a different person, but not in a good way. this facility, if you could even call it that, will ruin every last bit of humanity left in their patients. and their only goal? money. everything to them is a transaction, when the focus should be helping people. facilities were made with the people in mind not the business. whoever is running this place should be in prison for letting his staff treat anyone the way they do. there's a special place in the afterlife for people like the ones running laurel heights. i'm sad to say that there isn't a single positive thing to say about this place.

Well to add to my previous review. The only good thing that came out of this hospital is the psychiatrist. She put my daughter on suitable meds and her condition improved. They might be doing a good job in there but the lack of professionalism from the staff keeps you doubtful. Even though my daughter got better the five days she was there were like hell. Can’t call nor can get updates. They take your child and you stay in the dark the entire time they are there. I would never send my daughter there again. I’m praying to God that she gets better and we never need mental hospitals again. Children suffering from mental illness need lots of love and reassurance. Isolating them from their parents this way is a very bad approach.

I lived here from 1999-2006 maybe 07 it’s all a blur at this point. From unit 2 to 7 south ... I have dreams and nightmares of the PRN of Thorazine I used to receive there. But I must confess. I have great memories here too. Ms Deborah the old gym teacher made my first ever costume for Star Wars when I arrived. On unit 5 there was this cool guy named Mr. Cedric who was younger and felt more like an uncle then a staff who made it better for me. There was a great kitchen staff Ms B & Mr Tony, made life worth living even if I was doped up on like 15 different pills. Gregory Sterchi was a great lead therapist along side Ms. Liz, I’m 32 now and was there when I was 9-10 years old but it had a huge effect on my life. I want to reach out to the kids there and maybe come talk to them because even though life worked for me I had a lot of crashes because I wasn’t helped or informed of the transition that was ahead. I went from being locked down all day doing soap checks to being on the street on my own. Those kids need to see and hear from someone whose lived there and been restraint like they’re being restraint, whose had a needle of Thorazine to the buttocks; that it gets better later. But they have to be focused and equipped for the change. I want to come speak to them one day. If that’s cool. Let me know. Reach me at: [email protected] .. Looks rough but unit 2 was the greatest I’ve experienced:) this place is compliance and has a big schedule of everything. The staff are so sweet, 10 minute showers aren’t enough but your at a facility what do you expect:)

My wife and I are unable to reach a human being that is willing to let us speak to our child. Why are children sleeping on floors hopefully you can get your act together and make it into a better experience for helping children instead of hurting them im so confused about the arrangement that you have made for profits you should be ashamed of yourselves lack will lack of help makes children worse hopefully I get my kid back soon
