I had an appointment schedule by my doctor and was able to have an abdominal ultrasound. I think I was able to be schedule within 4 days. My only issue is that no one called or I didn’t get a notification about my appointment. A friendly reminder would have been nice, considering my appointment was two days after Labor Day. Also, it would have been nice to discuss the cost before agreeing to the appointment. It was not terribly expensive, but at least give us an idea of what it might cost. The intake rep was friendly and able to answer all my questions and was efficient in her job. The tech that did my ultrasound was very nice, as well. Everything was clean and ready to go.

Set up an appt here and trying to fax over an MRI order form was a painful process. The general appt scheduling department reps gave me the wrong fax number even though when i called a 2nd time, I made it clear to her that I wanted the fax number that goes directly to the the midtown office and not the general fax number. Upon calling the midtown office after my doc had sent over a fax for the 2nd time since the 1st one couldnt be found, the midtown office said they couldnt find it and told me the number the general line gave me the general fax number...sigh. After giving it a day to show up, my doc had to send another fax for the 3rd time. After all this mumbo jumbo, i was finally able to get an appt scheduled but was told that my insurance wouldnt allow pre-authorizations? That was the whole pt of getting the form to them in advance in the first place. I was then told to call back a day before my appt to speak to their billing dept. I called back and was told that my MRI would cost 480. Note, I had an MRI taken literally 2 months ago for literally the same issue but just the opposite side of my body at Cherokee Imaging Center and i paid 100. Both accept BCBS. My insurance hasnt changed and if anything the cost shouldve gone down so it wouldnt make any sense for it to be more than quadruple the price for the type of MRI. The lady then said they can work with me on the price but the lowest they could go wouldve still been almost triple the cost of what I paid at Cherokee. I went ahead and cancelled my appt and just scheduled with Cherokee. The only reason I didn’t book another appt at Cherokee was because I moved but had I known it wouldve been this cumbersome to schedule an appt at Northside and it wouldve been this expensive, i wouldve just booked at Cherokee to avoid the mess.

Do not use this facility if you have BCBS. They may be in-network as far as the imaging, but they will send it to an out of network radiologist. Beyond frustrating!
