I am responsible for my own financial obligations and I do not allow my family/friends to manage my finances as I would be broke. Financials are not an issue on my end. This is the response I was given. I do not understand what this has to do with my needing care. I still have to handle my day to day responsibilities, why is this any different? It is Skyland Trail’s policy not to discuss financial matters with potential and/or existing clients. The purpose is for clients to focus on their treatment and not the financial aspects of care. The financially responsible is not responsible along with the client. The financially responsible party is the only person responsible for financial aspects of the client’s care. The financially responsible party is responsible for handling and discussing all financial matters including but not limited to making all payments to Skyland Trail, applying for financial assistance based on their income (optional), and making all financial decisions on behalf of the client while in care.

A lot of reviews on here exemplify that Skyland Trail is not for everybody. Usually, only people who are willing to dig deep and take the right steps will find this place is a BLESSING. I started out not wanting to be there and hating my life, but within about a week I understood that to love life and have a positive experience is hard work with mental illnesses...and stayed for the full 90 days. The staff know exactly what they’re doing, though some aren’t the best fit for every individual. Ask for what you need!! Beautiful campus and beautiful people. Skyland has thoroughly changed my life and I’ll always be thriving because of this place. It’s hard to go in and commit, but you just gotta do it.

I hope no one in real need of help for a loved one has to endure an admission process with Skyland Trail. It takes about two weeks to send them all kinds of records, fill in questionnaires, and several calls and emails with different departments, to finally get an appointment for an assessment call. In that call if you don’t sound like a happy outgoing person, then they consider you won’t be a fit for them. Someone needs to let them know that people struggling with anxiety or depression cannot sound cheerful and extrovert. They make you waste precious time and they don’t show any remorse or shame at all. I hope they don’t tell me to call them again pretending they care about the customer experience. If treat like that to a family before admission, I can’t imagen how they treat their clients once inside their facility. For them to provide the kind of service they promote, first they should treat people in a human manner.
