The disposition of people at this place, especially the front desk, is so bad. They seem like they couldn't care less at times and don't seem passionate about helping you. Also, some advising will discourage you from trying to go above and beyond your coursework and add things to your academics. I remember one advisor giving me a questioning look when I told her that I wanted to have a minor. She made it so awkward and made it seem like what I was striving for was unrealistic. as if I said I wanted to become a multi-millionaire overnight. They need to fix the way the act. If you don't like your job and aren't passionate and happy about working with students and actually helping them succeed, you shouldn't be working here. That simple. Somebody said that the rating was a 3-star rating a month ago and look at the rating now (2-star). What's that saying? I'm giving a 3 simple because my personal advisors have been helpful. It's really the front desk at times that is problematic.

I've never had a bad experience with my advisor! She has been welcoming, accommodating, and extremely helpful. She makes sure to e-mail me if there is something I've forgotten, or if I should know something about the future, to make sure I make an appointment to see her. I can't praise this enough. I don't understand the negative reviews.

Personally I had a great time with my advisor. She was very helpful and the staff at the front desk was friendly too. Just make sure make an appointment for advising. It's so much fast and better than just WALK IN. :)

(Brandon Budinski is not my name, hopefully that is obvious.) First and foremost, I can not believe that this establishment still operates in any smooth capacity with the sheer amount of grievances that exist towards it. I'm writing this after relentless calls, in need of assistance to register for my classes. Each.and.every.time. I am asked to give my information, and told I will be contacted. Each and every time I am never contacted. Of course a huge mistake lies within the fact that I have not physically gone there, because that is the only way I have ever gotten any assistance in my 5 years of interacting with this university. For 5 long years I minced my words for a now unknown reason. This is the first step before filing an official complaint. Students give their time and dedication, and instead of being given that same respect, they are dismissed, ignored, and delayed. It is with great disdain that Georgia State \Advisement\ that I must refer to them as that. There is no advisement. Just toleration, and very little of that. Yours truly, A former student. p.s. Individuals are required to post at least one star. I feel that is imposed generosity in this particular case.

They are their to collect a paycheck. It’s that simple. They could care less on what you’re about to take. The student workers talk loudly and do not care whatsoever.
