My mother is an art teacher, and I grew up visiting every museum we could! The High Museum of Art was LOVELY. I quite respected the very kind staff, and the security wasn't too on edge, as they often can be. This is understandable sometimes, of course, but security was helpful and kind with any of our questions which we very much appreciated. I especially appreciated the Folk Art and African Art exhibit on the 3rd or 4th floor. Beyond that there was also massive abstract pieces that were lovely to engage and take photos with. I love seeing art that goes beyond what many museums exclusively display as art history cannon: the white colonial men and women, which, don't get me wrong, has an important place in art history and art appreciation. I just loved seeing the deviations, because they, too, are extremely important. For this reason, I would recommend visiting the top floor first and working your way down. One of my favorite exhibits was one representing Persian art. I believe it was a temporary exhibit. It was something, I had never really seem, especially in that capacity. The museum itself is a lovely space, very clean and sterile to some degree, but also very elegant and modern. My bf and I dreaded that the interactive children's spaces were closed (due to COVID), because they looked quite colorful and fun.

I always have loved the High! Now with social distancing, it is even better! Everyone used their masks and kept their distance. So going to an exhibition is even better. Persia art work was a treat!

Someone was playing the piano that sits outside the building. It was evening time and this was a pleasant experience. There are benches to sit on as well on the complex property. Good art creative space.

I was surprised by the sheer size of the museum and found the quality of the collection to be very high and engaging. I also love the design of the space. I had many opportunities to take memorable photos of my friends in the well placed windows and beautiful lighting. I'm glad I had the opportunity to visit this space.
