I have always really enjoyed the inventory here. That being said, the place is quite expensive. I recently purchased a pair of expensive chubbies here, and after wearing them in water found out they turned into a star spangled catastrophe of a print when wet. Nothing noted on the bathing suit when purchasing.I decided to try and go discuss if I could receive a store credit as I had purchased, in my opinion, a suit I should be thrilled to have, and unfortunately that was not the case. Was blatantly told they didn’t know it changed appearance when wet, couldn’t sell something worn, and that they would lose profits if they took it back. I responded I did understand about the profits loss. I just don’t understand how they could sell a product they themselves didn’t have full knowledge of, and expect customers to be satisfied as well with purchasing something they did not have full knowledge of either. What I can’t seem to really get on board with is how the dollar is worth more than customer satisfaction. Disappointed, but understandable is what I said when leaving the conversation. Hopefully the staff will start balancing the satisfaction of their customers with that of their profits. This mentality in my experience does not lead to success or long term customer support.

Totally negative experience in a shop I have not frequented in years due to high prices...Geared specifically to the tourist trade. Yesterday I was returning from Emerald Isle and decided to stop. Was asked 4 different times if I was finding everything in about 4 minutes...very pushy. While browsing the clothing I was informed that it was AB Surf Shops policy to not allow you to try on while having a bathing suit on (under a dress). I had no intention of trying anything on as I was looking for sunglasses. How tacky! I'm local and I will never be back.

Very nice staff. Clean shop and all the girls working were very helpful and friendly. We definitely will be shopping at AB Surf Shop on future vacations to Atlantic Beach!! Highly recommend!
