This place is awesome! The staff and owner exceed expectations in every way possible. The food is amazing! The drinks are amazing! The staff is super friendly and go out of their way to ensure a safe, socially distanced dining experience. The Casa Chapala family never fail to make my experience enjoyable!

Their beef skirt steak was very good. Good service with a lot of seating and music.

I'm surprised I haven't reviewed Casa Chapala before. They are an Austin mainstay. Aways popular. This is because you can go here for a party atmosphere on a Thursday or even a classy date night. The prices are moderately expensive but only because the food is very well made and traditional. Inside and outside bar! What's not to love?

Our visit wasn't great and while they were taking many precautions for covid19, our server and some other stuff weren't wearing masks properly. As for the restaurant, it is huge! They have a really nice bar area and a huge layout with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The food was pretty good, but not great. They can adjust the spiciness of your salsa when they get to your table by crushing in peppers. We shared the beef fajitas and they were tougher than we liked. We had to cut them into small pieces because they were chewy and hard to pull apart. I had the avocado margarita which was mini chunky style, not smooth and it was okay. The skinny margarita was pretty good and my wife really enjoyed it. Overall this place has a lot of potential. Hoping they get some things fixed.
