I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Leonard Weiss regarding a medical-legal matter requiring an impartial evaluation. It’s easy sharing my observations about a professional needing no accolades due to his expertise and dedication to his chosen endeavor. Dr. Weiss has skills and knowledge unmatched by his peers with equal training. In my opinion, his incisive and intuitive evaluation of myself and my history is legendary. As a physician myself, having decades of experience communicating with over 100 patients per day and also observing other doctors interact with their patients, I have never witnessed a doctor who instinctively knows the next question to ask or the next appropriate comment to interject as does Dr. Weiss. He can ferret out forgotten truths and beneficial knowledge better than anyone I have ever witnessed. He has the gift, talent, and empathy that is unique in discerning a client’s needs, deficiencies, and desires.

I recommend Dr. Weiss because has always impressed me with his expertise and skill as a psychiatrist. Many people don't know this, but he is also a Board-Certified Internist and that means he can treat me while taking into consideration other medical conditions besides just psychiatry. For example, I am at risk for Diabetes and that means any medication I might take for my psychiatric condition (I prefer not to say), will include considering that medical condition. I don't know of another psychiatrist in Austin who brings this kind of medical knowledge to the table. I highly recommend Dr. Weiss.

Even on my first appointment I found Dr. Weiss easy to talk to. There was a dialogue and a conversation that was relevant. In fact Dr. Weiss was the one that gave me insight as to my stomach pain AND that was after seeing 2 top notch, 5 star rated Gerontologists! Thanks to Dr. Weiss I have been pain free since then.

Dr. Weiss' Forensic Psychiatric practice is enhanced by his knowledge, extensive experience and credentials. I recommend him. I want to add that he is very easy to talk to and has fascinating insight in his area of expertise as a psychiatrist. I can imagine he is good with patients, though I was not his patient or worked with him in that capacity. It is always refreshing when a forensic psychiatrist is also a clinical psychiatrist with a robust patient care practice, such as Dr. Weiss'. This is especially important in a medical-legal practice where an active day to day practice in an expert witness' chosen field shows he or she is \in the trenches\ with their area of expertise. Juries really appreciate this.
