Great, creative meal. Fusion between Texas and Japanese. A great example of this was something as simple as the dashi soup they serve. Very classic, simple Japanese flavor. With smokey tidbits of brisket inside. They do it just right such that the brisket doesn't impact the flavor of the dashi, but it releases it's smokey flavor when you bite into it. The scallops with sweet potato were a great combination. And the shrimp was phenomenal. A couple caveats. The halibut was dry, especially compared to the brisket. I'd change that up. The sake selection should be improved and priced a bit more reasonably. Everything was a bit more expensive than I was expecting (didn't realize it was prix fixe).

What a unique experience - both food and ambiance! Not easy to do these days. Some really unique dishes and creative fusions of flavor in their omakase.
So they will open next week, and we thought our reservation was this week. We happen to appear during a media night and the host let us know we were week early. We walked back towards vehicles and searching for a new place when the manager came out and offered to host us still since we were dressed up and looking forward to eating here. So enough of backstory, what you need to know is the menu is revamped and not sure if it will be same next week but you choose either meat, seafood, or veggie skewer route. This is a 5 course meal and we tried meat and seafood. Both were great and I am biased to the seafood route I had. Everything was delicious and had amazing depth to the different flavors. Surprisingly the jerky carrots are great delight, as most everything. The only thing I really miss from old menu is banana pudding. I posted a series of photos of the new menu primarily the seafood route.
What a fun meal! I cannot say it’s the best and it is a bit expensive but I really did enjoy the BBQ/Japanese fusion.
Just eat here! This is an experience: amazing food, and drink and unique experience! The restaurant is in a residential area and the entrance in the back yard. It starts out unique. Then you are treated with their own saki. When you enter the restaurant, everyone gives you a Japanese greeting. Then you choose meat, fish, or veggie and proceed with an amazing seven course meal. We had seafood, which was sustainably caught, and vegetarian. A Mazing! Drinks were very unique! All around wonderful!
