My first time using a birthing doula and I had a wonderful experience. Merav was my doula and from the first time we spoke until delivery of my son she was with me. I enjoyed our virtual meetings to help me talk through my fears of childbirth and my birthing plan. She provided breathing exercises to practice for labor pains and stress, also she gave me different techniques to try to get baby in position. I loved how educated she was on birth and how she taught me the importance of relaxation. From a spiritual standpoint she was the support I needed to reassure me that everything is going as planned and not to stress myself over things I cannot control. While in the hospital I loved how she stepped in with the nurses and doctors requesting the resources I needed to birth my baby successfully and peacefully. She made sure I didn’t get overwhelmed with medical professionals and she made me feel empowered reminding me this is “My” birthing experience. Although I didn’t meet my goal of a natural birth I welcomed my new bundle of joy with open arms by CS and she didn’t make me feel less than because my goal wasn’t met. She was with me during the surgery and took amazing pictures that will last a lifetime. The kind of support she gave is exactly what women need during labor and delivery, especially if you don’t meet your goal. My son is now 4 months old and I still think of our conversations to help me deal with my stress. She was more than a birthing doula to me, she felt more like family.

My husband and I cannot imagine my birth without Merav- her compassion, kindness, and advocacy were so vital during one of the most difficult and beautiful days of our lives. If you are considering having a doula for your birth (which you should), Merav is able to support you both physically and emotionally. I consider her a friend after our short time together. With little notice and over a week before expected, Merav attended my labor and birth. She stayed with us for over 15 hours including overnight up until we successfully breastfed. She was an amazing resource and helped with pain management, decision making, and the transformation into motherhood. She even offered to help with anything we needed for postpartum care! She is so full of love and compassion.
