Robert Emerson is a wonderful doctor. He has been wonderful to me through a difficult illness. He listens to his patients and truly cares. A patient and doctor relationship is a two way street; both have to be willing to communicate, listen and work toward positive results. Dr Emerson is willing to do this.

Dr. Emerson has treated me for COPD since 2010. He is a very kind doctor; thorough and highly skilled. His staff are excellent professionals, equally awesome and I deeply regret having to move away from the Austin area.

Ok, here we go. July of 2013 I went to see Dr. Emerson for the first time. I had been experiencing unusual wheezing. He said it was probably allergies. I do not have allergies, however now I'm thinking I must have allergies, I went to an allergist to start allergy treatments. In July 2014 I went back to Dr. Emerson because now my wheezing has gotten worse and he said he wasn't worried about it and I left. i went to my general practitioner who suggested I see an ear, nose and throat doctor for my continuous wheezing. i saw Dr. Briggs, who is wonderful and thorough, He ordered a CT scan, Low and behold - cancer !! The CT scan showed a 3.5 x 2.0 cm tumor in my upper right lobe, Turned out to be stage IV Colon Caner. Thanks a lot Dr. Emerson, I can't help but feel that if you had ordered a CT scan to begin with in July of 2013, my outcome would have been a lot better. You see, Wheezing is a symptom of cancer, I would never recommend this Doctor to anyone.

I think he is retired on the job. He insisted I had asthma, although I had no history of allergies or asthma. When I asked if my dyspnea would be better when it was colder, he said yes...only to find that cold makes asthma worse. Long story short, I don't have asthma at all, and more astute pulmonogists are testing for pulmonary hypertension. I have wasted valuable time.
