What an experience! My girlfriend, my sister, my brother-in-law and I set sail right at sunset over the lake. Weather was amazing, our skipper Robert was fantastic and we loved every second of our time over the water. Communication with the owner Steve was excellent. He told us exactly where to be and what to expect. We were able to pay on the spot with my credit card which was convenient. If you're ever in Austin you have to take a sail ride with them!

Summary: We did a bareboat charter with SailATX - Steve was great, boat was in excellent condition, and the lake and surrounding landscape made it a beautiful sail! We would charter again with Steve and recommend others to do so as well! Details: Steve was very communicative during the process of chartering. He was flexible in allowing me to customize charter based on my availability and desired wind conditions and provided walk-through videos of the boat prior to arriving at the slip. Once at the slip, Steve briefed us on the boat's safety amenities and guided us through the use of the electric motor and quirks of undocking. Steve's passion for sailing and sharing it with others was visibly evident and explained the mechanics of prop walk in a very understandable way. Steve's Catalina 270 was a well maintained and clean boat - everything from the clam cleats and clutches to the onboard electronics such as the electronic motor display and depth finder worked beautifully. The sails were in great condition and the bimini kept us well-shaded. The electric motor was nice and quiet (compared to a diesel) and responded well to the throttle. She was also very responsive under sail for a boat of her size. The blue-green color of Lake Travis was truly serene. The surrounding features such as the rolling tree line, rocky cliffs along the shoreline, and hill-side and lake-side architecture made it an amazing sail!

We had a great time with Steve! I will use sailATX again and again anytime I have people visiting Austin. He is extremely knowledge, kept everybody very safe and also allowed us to pull some line and crank some winch handles. It was an awesome experience!

I went out with Steve a couple of weeks ago. He was very knowledgeable, professional and most important fun! I would highly recommend him for any corporate retreat.
