This was my first time trying this restaurant. I am not familiar with south Indian cuisine and was curious to try dishes new to me. We only ordered vegetarian items, and there were so many to choose from. I thought the prices were a little high (10-12, includes rice), however the quantities were quite generous (a full pint plus rice) so it turned out to be a good value. The sauces/gravies were very thick and rich making the food so delicious. The veggies were plentiful and fresh. I made a note in my online order about a food sensitivity, and the staff called me to advise against one of my choices and we agreed on a substitution. When I picked up my order, everything was hot and fresh. I would get takeout from this place again or dine in after the pandemic.

If you are looking for the BEST Indian food in Austin, Sangam is the place for you! Restaurants which offer a lot of items on their menu often don't get anything right, but Sangam defies this. Everything on their menu is DELICIOUS! The Tandoor appetizers here are outstanding! Served in a sizzler plate, the Paneer and Chicken tandoor starters are a must have. Living in the US for almost 6 years now, I have never had good mutton dishes even in California, but Sangam again surprises you. The Mutton Sukka Varuval and Sangam Special Mutton Masala will remind you too much of home. On weekends my to-go is Grand Non-Veg Thali, the sukka Chicken and Fish served in this Thali are my favorites! Also do find out what is the weekend special dish and order that - it will never disappoint! As a South Indian restaurant, this place lives to the expectations of serving fresh and best idli, vadas and dosas. One should definitely order the Paper Dosa here :) Surprisingly this restaurant has amazing noodles as well! My husband is in love with the Poori Chana and Fish Sukka Varuval served here. One can always start or end the meal with hot Filter Coffee. This place is always super clean, portion sizes are great and the management is amazing! The management is always willing to recommend and suggest dishes on your preference. I have been visiting this place for more than 2 years now, but the quality hasn't gone down one bit. Sangam has become a home away from home! :)
This restaurant was one of the only places open in the middle of the ice storm this evening. They were so kind, had excellent hospitality, and delicious food. They explained some of the dishes to us and made helpful suggestions that resulted in perfect dishes for everyone’s palettes. Mild for me, spicy for my husband, and delicious noodles for the kids with their own choices of protein. The portion sizes were very generous and the Valentine’s Day surprises to our table were truly so thoughtful. The ambiance of the entire restaurant showed how much pride they take in what they do. 10/10 would 100% recommend to anyone! If you haven’t tried southern Indian cuisine and feel overwhelmed they will definitely help point you in the right direction. I can’t believe this has been a hidden gem just down the street from my house, we will have to try it again!
First visit to this place. Food is awesome. The place is very clean and the service staff members are polite and careful about minimizing the number of times they touch anything due to COVID. The kitchen is fast and they had enough staff in the dining hall to help manage an almost full dining area. Great job guys !!! Thank you for an awesome experience. I will definitely be back.
My heart is so full, and so is my belly!! Finding this place is such a score!! The service was WONDERFUL, and the food is SO authentic and portions are awesome. After traveling through southern India for over a month and falling in love with the cuisine, I have been looking for a place like this ever since. Such a comprehensive menu to choose from. I will be back very regularly!!
