Ski Shores is fantastic! We finally made it out here from Austin and really enjoyed the drive along the way. We made it here just after sunset and the light and views were great. We had some beers and the catfish basket; the food was fine (you have to remember this is a no frills place). You go here for the atmosphere and to get away from the hustle and bustle. Our server was friendly and our dog really enjoyed his Puppy Patty as well. We'll definitely be back with our parents on their next visit. Keep it up!

Service has gone downhill over the last two times I've been to the restaurant. Yesterday it took three tries, across two servers, to get extra cocktail sauce and we were never asked if we needed refills. The waiters seemed more interested in spending time on their phones than checking on their customers. The visit before the order was wrong and took forever to get the correct one, and the table next to us that arrived after us got served before us/more frequently because they were friends with the waiter. This review is an FYI to address with your wait staff so you don't have other upset customers going forward because the food is really good and the atmosphere/view is great.
Scenic drive in the Austin hills leading to a riverside cafe. Social distancing/mask rules are followed and you can't beat a good view of the river and the hills. Being an Idaho girl, I take my fries seriously and their fries are seriously good! Crispy and golden, they pair well with the burgers which have toasted buns. I got the Beeeeach please! cocktail which was a sleeper, started sweet and tasty and left me with a nice buzz. Pros: Several eating spaces on the grass, on the dock etc, a play area with a slide, and enjoyment of watching the boats and the odd turtle. Cons: THE PARKING! (A problem that a lot of Austin restaurants have.) It's not a deal breaker, just get here early enough for a spot in the parking lot or just make sure not to block anyone on the gravel parking area and you'll be fine. ;)
Fun spot on the river, enjoyed the fried chicken sandwhich, Cobb salad and views.
One of the few places on lake Austin where you can sit right at the water without being in a boat. Watch your children no railings at the waters edge of the deck. Prices are mid to upper range but you are right on the water. Burgers really good and they offer a full bar and large play area (away from the waters edge) so parents you can enjoy a cool drink on a hot Austin day on the lake (okay it's a river). It's the closest place like the \The Pier\ left in Austin. Well worth you drive out.
