Telstar cleaned and checked my 80s-era Pioneer receiver. It's one of the few Austin shops that works on vintage equipment. Very happy with work. They're in an odd little office in a storage-unit building on Burnet Road, but just call ahead and they'll open the gate for you.

They are the only place in town that will repair vintage console record players. Which is fine because they did a phenomenal job repairing my late 1970’s console. Yes, it took three months but due to COVID and the age of this machine that’s about what I was expecting. You have to understand that with these types of jobs it’s not next day service. They even did some cosmetic repairs on the lid!

After calling other stereo repair stores and being advised that my grandfathers record player would be better off thrown in the trash than repaired, speaking with Matt and getting a tour of his repair shop was a breath of fresh air. He and his team repaired and cleaned my stereo and had it working like new. It’s a sentimental item for me, and knowing someone was working on it with care meant a lot. Thanks Matt.

They brought my deep 70's Hitachi turntable back from the dead. I thought they would give it last rites. Nice people, awesome work. A credit to their craft.

Had a power cable that i needed reconnected inside a clock, but the cable was too short and too many things in the way for me to try to make the connection myself with my hands (i def tried for weeks). Took it in preparing to drop it off, and guy in front insisted on just helping me on the spot and sending me on my way! Even though it took him 10 minutes or so he patiently sat there and tried different tools until he got something that worked, and refused to take payment for his services. Will definitely be hitting them up the next time i have some business for them where i can actually pay them!!
