I

i need help

Can't say enough about the fantastic job the administration, nurses and staff of Austinwoods Assisted Living are doing to care for my mother and all their residents. My mother, I and our family are so relieved we made the best choice. hmm don't know why this post shows \I need help\. tried to get rid of it but can't.

Nurses and staff are great. But there has to be a better way for them to handle the covid-19 situation. My grandpa was in there for the past 4 months and once covid-19 started, he didn’t see any of us until the day he died. In fact, he didn’t even get to see my dad before he died. My dad was in town for 2 days a few weeks back and called the nursing home saying “can I come see him? Even if it is for 5 minutes. He’s my dad and I haven’t seen him in 4 months.” My dad never saw his own father again. Also, my grandpa lived through his worst fears for people I.e. being alone, not eating enough, and feeling lonely/forgotten. Even though he wasn’t forgotten, keeping him and the other patients isolated from their families is not healthy. He got so depressed to the point where he was on antidepressants until he passed away a week ago. There has to be a better way to handle this situation, especially for those who are on hospice. But as I said the nurses and staff are all fantastic, the only issue is the way that they are handling covid-19.

Austinwoods is one of the most compassionately staffed centers for your loved one! I've had multiple family members here for rehab and know several friends who have had their loved ones here as well. We have all been happy with the therapy they received and their nursing care. The floor staff work hard to provide quality care and are kind people. They know their residents and work hard to make them happy. The building has no ursing home smell\, which is a huge plus. They just remodeled too! I recommend them to anyone looking for long-term care or needing rehab after a hospital stay.

I am satisfied with the care at the Woodlands. I have been here 7 days so far, long enough to review the place. The therapy is on point. Therapy staff is patient, and compassionate. The kitchen staff has taken care of my needs immensely while I have been here. I love the kitchen staff. Line them all up and thank them for their caring, running around, and serving with a smile. The nursing staff is the bomb. I get all meds on time and when I request an aid to help me, they are kind, patient, compassionate, and know how to help you in ways that dont lead to disaster. I definitely recommend this facility and if i ever need rehab again, i will come here for my care.

They let people go over two or Three hours with out pain meds. Leaving them in unbearable pain for Hours on end. They aren't too busy either. I see them bs'ing in the hallways at the nurses station. I just may go to Stan Boney with this story of dereliction to duty.
