We had 5 adults do the not-so-early-bird special. We rented kayaks for 4 hours and went up to Willow Cove. We loved being on the water. Jake got us set up with our gear- wet suit (if you want), life jackets, cooler (we brought our own lunch), dry bags, and snorkel gear. We saw sea lions and several different kinds of fish including plenty of the famous orange, Garibaldi. The send off was smooth and they made sure we knew what we were doing. Coming back, instructions were very clear and the returning of the gear was quick and easy. Aurora made the checkout process smooth and she was very friendly.

Holy moly!! Our guide was a champ! He Gave such a good tour and handled me “feeding the fishes”! He was so excited about marine biology and gave us some extra cool experiences of seeing nurse sharks and really helped us appreciate the wild areas of Catalina!! Great experience out to Frog Rock! Loved our guide!!
This is a great place to rent any ocean sports equipment from. I took out their two person ocean kayak out with my girlfriend and we had a great afternoon! The water is beautiful and had the water been warmer, I'm sure we would have rented some snorkel gear as well. I recommend that you get a waterproof sack from them for anything that you don't want to leave in a crate behind their little stand. It is only about 2 if I'm remembering correctly.

Ocean kayaking it was really fun going around the side of the island and losing view of the beach, feeling waves rock the kayak and watching them crash on some rocks. Really relaxing and just nice overall. We could see a bunch of garibaldi down in the water. We also snorkeled from this beach and saw some little silver fish with stripes. That was cool. Descanso beach has nice shower areas and changing rooms seperate from the bathrooms. The bar they have here didn't really have good tasting drinks though. But ocean kayaking was fun and reasonably priced.
