Ave Maria Grotto in Cullman Alabama is such a unique and interesting garden, memorial walk through the life and art of Brother Joseph - although his life’s dream was not fulfilled completely he brought joy and wonder with his miniature HOLY replicas to people who may never have had the opportunity to see them in person. His use of common materials, glass, pottery and gems in creating these pieces of art took skill and precision. It begins with a video of his life to better understand his journey. The gift shop is very cool and filled with local foods and crafts made by the monks.

WOW! Br. Joseph was so creative. His miniature work is amazing. You do not need to be religious to appreciate this stop. Well worth it. You could go back over and over and always see something new.

The Grotto is a gr8 place to go on your own or as a group. We've enjoyed it twice recently as a group. It's like a little place to go and escape. Beautiful garden as you see Bro. Joseph's miniature buildings and cities. The Monk bread is good too. Very nice gift shop.

Wow, this is a must stop. Particularly if you are Catholic, it is still a great stop even if you are not. The miniature buildings are awesome. Check and see if they have Monk Bread before leaving, its worth purchasing. We made sandwiches for dinner the day we went by.
