I am about to go to school to become an aviation maintenance technician and the staff here are amazing

I am an Instructor here and have been for 17 years. I love teaching people about Aviation & how airplanes work!
If you are looking for a good school to go to please, don't waist your time or money here. If your a Vet its even worse. They will constantly mess up the reporting back to the VA causing many Vets to miss payments, sometimes months at a time before resolved. I am around half-way through my program and so far several of the instructors are great, very knowledgeable and respectful. Then there are other instructors who are still stuck in the 80's & 90's. They are barely knowledgeable on how to teach us or don't teach us and just put \YouTube\ on and tell us to read our text. With the money we pay for this school, you can go to a not-for profit school and save the time, hassle and money. From what I can see via social media, the Kansas City school is the worst campus I have found by far, (opinions of other AIM schools welcome). Tools sets missing many pieces or just don't have the proper tools and if we do have them they don't work properly. The aircraft we do have to work on have been \maintained\ and are no longer even remotely what we would be looking at. The turbines we have are of the same quality. If you are serious about aviation you can buckle down and make it through this program, but I wouldn't recommend it. If you do choose to come here, come and do a sit in day or two, bounce around from class to class, actually see the school for yourself and make your own opinions. I will close with; the school has a silver tongue for getting you in here and getting your money, so be mindful.
I am a Current Student here at this school right now in the beginning of the program. My thoughts of the school so far is this: your education is what you make of it. The goal is for you to be able to understand what you are learning and pass your tests to start a CAREER! If you work hard and handle your business then come here. They money will be there if you work for it. That every class serious and if you don't know something then ask. Time x EffortSuccess. You can success.
Worst education experience of my life, aside from a few great instructors. I would discourage anyone from going to this school. There are far better aviation schools across the country, at a fraction of the price. Do your research and make sure you never go to AIM.
