Took an afternoon trip to Avila with my family yesterday and decided to go to ocean grill for lunch. we waited 20 minutes for a vacated table to be cleared for us to sit. the server was overall good and attentive to us, the food on the other hand was quite another story. we ordered a bowl of chowder to share that tasted ok but with almost no clams. my fried chicken sandwich was tasteless for the most part besides the burnt rancid oil it seemed to be soaked in. my wife had the calamari sandwich which was similarly oily. my youngest had a cheese burger and fries and my oldest the Caesar salad and shared our fries. we shared a cookie and peanut butter cheesecake for desert. My wife was feeling nauseous within an hour of leaving, myself and our children were feeling nauseous not long after. by evening we were all sick and I was vomiting for the rest of the night. besides eating some cereal in the morning before leaving home we didn't eat anything else all day. I am not sure what part of our meal was bad but we all were sick. definitely will not be eating at this restaurant again any time soon. beware.

Servers were attentive but not over bearing. Excellent selection of local wine. In our opinion, the Ocean Grill Fettuccini was superb , exceeding the Glazed Salmon. The creme brûlée was a refreshingly sweet way to end the evening
Cold brew...blood Orange was perfect for the beach atmosphere. The calamari was perfect. Two dipping sauces. The spicey chili was nice a little better than the lime option. Back for more...gonna try the flatbread in their own brick oven.

This place never fails. My 2nd time here and the food is excellent! Definitely going back sometime soon.
