If you are looking for a true vacation, take out one of Timber Bay's houseboats. I look forward to it all year long. Ron and Beth are so welcoming and their dock staff are friendly, helpful and extremely efficient. The houseboats are very well maintained and easy to navigate on the lake. The lake is beautiful with many easy to access camp sites. There are many loons and eagles around and they are so fun to watch. Highly recommended! A

We rented Houseboat #6 last July and had a blast! We spent six nights on beautiful Birch Lake roaming from campsite to campsite. Beth and Ron are hospitable and friendly, and the boat was easy to operate and comfortable for our group. Our kids loved the day program offered at the main resort and we all enjoyed a little tubing and waterskiing off the main pier. We already booked for 2021! Definitely and adventure not to be missed.

Excellent experience! Resort owners and employees were very friendly and helpful. Rented their largest house boat for 3 nights. Each night we tied up to a new camp with a firepit. Each place was unique and offered trails and places to explore. The lake is 20 miles long, but not too wide (you could see land on both sides at all times). Most of it is protected land, so few houses and resorts. This made the lake quiet and peaceful. It offered many different places to camp, allowing us to find the level of privacy we liked. The few houses and resorts seemed to be around our resort on one end, so the farther we went, the quieter it was. Our first night we started far out on the lake on a small island with a rope swing. The second night we stayed at a sandy beach on a peninsula that had at least five trails to explore. The third and last night was on another island with the easiest access to and from the boat. When first faced with driving the boat, we all got a little nervous, so an employee backed it out for us and had another employee pick him up just off shore. From there we took over. We soon found a rhythm with me and my daughter driving it in open water and her boyfriend docking it and backing it out. Docking could be stressful, but we got the hang of it quickly. We brought two kayaks with us so people could go off and explore areas we couldn't in the houseboat. The staterooms with queen bunk beds were tiny and the marine toilets are not fun (they never are), but all doable for the experience. It was a great way to go to scenic, out of the way campsites without actually having to camp-LOL! We had all the household items we needed to cook meals and feel like it was a little like home. And waking up to the sun rising over the lake from the window in your queen bunk was awesome! The wine was complimentary from the resort and was a nice little treat to share. Overall, an absolute great experience we would do again-probably next summer!

Friendly people and a beautiful location. We had a wonderful vacation. Thanks for entertaining all of our questions and for making our stay so much fun. Our family will talk about the time we spent on the houseboat for years to come.

AMAZING! Timber Bay houseboat rental exceeded our expectations. The 50 foot boat was roomy, lots of storage, huge upper deck, full kitchen and hot clean shower. Birch Lake is gorgeous. It was fun adventuring to each campsite. Shout out to Ron, Beth and Hag! What an awesome team. Thank you for the memories - we hope to make it back for a longer stay. A few more details: mosquitoes were only out for about an hour and then then campfires were perfect at 10:30 PM. Lake water temp later July was an inviting 75-80 degrees on main lake...made the slide off the back of the boat soooo much fun. We fit 5 kayaks, 1 paddle board and a water carpet on our boat!

This is among our favorite vacation choices. We have celebrated our milestone 20th and 40th wedding anniversaries as well as other weeks with Timber Bay Houseboats on quaint and cozy Birch Lake. Tried other Houseboats on Vermillion and Rainy but none as friendly, efficient and accommodating as Beth, Ron and their helpful staff. Lodging in their cabins is next on our list.
