My wife and I rented some paddle boards from Coastal Urge on 9/16. The price is reasonable considering they are the only place to rent paddle boards on the island (I pay a similar price up at Lake Jocassee in SC). The rental process was super easy and in about 10 min we were on our way with the boards strapped onto our golf cart. My wife got an inflatable board because they are much lighter and therefore easier to transport the 200-300 yards to the water (I got a Bic board) The inflatable boards are not as fast or stable as the Bics so there is a trade off. While paddle boarding there was a pod of about 8 dolphins playing about 10 feet from us, it was a very unique experience. I was also able to surf a few waves with the Bic board, which is super stable.

We experienced very poor customer service when renting bicycles this week. The staff member did not attempt to make sure that the bicycles fit our family. When wetwe requested assistance, the staff member acted very bothered. Much of the equipment was too rusted to be adjusted. Ultimately, the Weehoo (child trailer) was in such poor shape and was installed so poorly that my daughter leaned to the side when we rode. For what they charge, the service should be much better.

Nice selection of beach and water sports clothing and supplies as well as accessories. Plus sports equipment like Stand Up Paddleboards, bikes, etc. you can buy or rent. They also offer SUP excursions. They have locations in Wilmington and on Bald Head Island. You'll be stylin' on the beach, the dock, your boat, or your board.
