The ship was amazing to see. It's exactly what you would expect a state of the art ship built in the 1960s to look like in passenger areas. Bright colors with space age chrome accents. You can walk through most of the ship and they've kept a few rooms in something like the original condition. You can go on tours to the engine and control rooms. Most of the ship is easy to walk through but you have to use the stairs and some of them are very steep.

Definitely a must-do for anyone who likes ships and American history. An odd combination of nuclear power, passenger cruise ship, cargo transport, and '60's era American public relations all rolled up into one. This unique combo is also probably why it didn't stay operational for very long. A unique museum piece that must be preserved
The ship is a time capsule and fantastic to see and understand -- you feel like you are with Judy Jetson with the furnishing and just seeing how the ship's equipment ran the ship... the visit was absolutely worthwhile and those who run the visits have such enthusiasm and passion for it that it makes the experience all the more interesting due to their knowledge. I highly recommend a visit when you can.
Awesome nuclear ship. A unique tour of a great boat. I love this ship, neat history and new things of old. Fantastic tour and bring your food! Excellent air condition and an exciting something to see. I highly recommend touring if you get a chance.
I am looking forward to seeing this ship I haven't been here yet but I'm hoping to see it here soon and hearing about the history of this Shipp.
Nautical perfection in a floating museum! The Fife and drum music was wonderful.
Unique one of a kind ship. Bring the kids..experience a time capsule to late 50's when ..atoms for peace..was a believed and viable possibility. Not Ada acdessable. Steep steps, loose railings, high thresholds abound. Not wheelchair or scooter accessible to board ship or even on board.
It was a real piece of history. The dining halls and state rooms were typical 1960s decor. Fascinating tour of the nuclear reactor. Well maintained. Amazed that the tour was free. The reactor tour was guided. Two other tours were self guided so you could spend the time walking those while you were waiting (about 75 minutes) for the reactor tour.
