This place should be razed to the ground and replaced with anything. The bathrooms feel 100 years old, there's mold in so many places, entire areas are discarded and sealed off, and the amenities are minimal at best. Then the betting windows are staffed by amateurs who don't know anything about racing, now I just use online apps instead. If you wanna go see some races live and enjoy it, go anywhere else. I understand the history of this track, but it's fallen into disrepair and gross mismanagement.

For Preakness, the race course used to open at 6 am and you could bring in just about anything food / drink wise as long as it wasn't in glass. You'd bring in blankets / a couple coolers and setup a spot to spend the day eating / drinking / watching the races. Usually by 10 am some people would be drunk and by noon there could be one or two rolling brawls around the infield. People sliding in mud (if it was raining that day). People sprinting on the tops of the spot o pots. Live music. It was chaotic and crazy but it was an experience / site to behold. I never had problems going there in 15 years. You brought your own food / alcohol. You got to eat well / get a buzz / watch some horse races and it didn't make you poor. (they now make people buy food / drinks there / so they've ruined it). It was a party with a hundred thousand of your closest friends back in the day. Now it's an event designed to empty your wallet.

Still great place to socialize and gamble. Can't wait to see the new developments.
