My dog seemed to enjoy it. She was very happy when I picked her up. I gave them four stars because they have their grooming area right inside the front door, which in itself isn’t a problem, but a dog was completely stressed and voicing its stress when we arrived. My dog was immediately put on alert and was distressed. Also, there are no cameras! I had to resist the urge to check in on her and I really missed not having a way to do so. Edit... regardless of WHY the dog was being vocal, it WAS being vocal and stressed out my dog. Maybe build a wall with windows so the dogs don’t hear the other dogs? Also, regardless of your reasons for not having live cameras I still missed not being able to check on my dog. I never said it was a bad place. I simply said WHY I DIDNT GIVE FIVE STARS!

As an employee here, I'm a bit biased, but admittedly I'm also a customer, so I'll still make the post nonetheless! The team here is full of exceptional people and personalities who love and care for the dogs. The boarding is affordable, and the dogs get all the attention they need. Daycare is a blast, and I occasionally bring my youngest dog with me to play with all her pals. Keeley, our groomer, is something of a miracle worker - and I highly recommend her for any breed. Overall, this place is the only place I ever intend to have take care of my dogs.
This place is great! They often host the mobile vaccine/surgical unit that offers low cost vaccinations, testing, spaying and neutering. Everyone that we’ve spoken with has been delightful and helpful. They have information available online, by phone and even text messaging! When we got out new kitten in November they were amazing helping us get him everything he needed. Truly exceptional service,even during this pandemic. I live an hour from Columbus but will continue to return for my pets needs because it’s wonderful. Remember to ring the bell when you visit! :) Quick addition: Last night, in an effort to provide much needed surgeries, a clinic was held and things didn’t go exactly as planned. Sadly there was an extraordinarily long wait for pick up. Please keep in mind that these are low cost services provided for you by exceptional people that really care about your pets and you! My kitty was well cared for and worth the wait(I was among the last handful or so). The staff did their best with the circumstances as they were and I would rather wait for the experienced, warm staff there than go somewhere else or worse, have nowhere to go at all. Big hugs to the troopers that put their all into taking care of all the fur babies, no matter how hard it got! You effort has not gone unnoticed.
I love Barks and Rec! We have been taking our puppy (Atlas) there for a year now and he loves it. Whenever we pull into the parking lot he begins to whine with excitement. The staff is great and takes amazing care of the dogs! The daily Instagram story updates and post-daycare report card is always so fun to see.
I always have the best and easiest experience with Barks and Rec! Everyone is so friendly and I know my puppy is in great care with them.
We love barks and rec, their boarding is better than the best rated boarding in the city. The only issue is that my dog doesn't know when to stop and he will run until his paws are bleeding. Jess has even sat with him and massaged his paws with coconut oil, I will never forget how well she has taken care of my big baby.
This is the second time Keeley groomed my Maltese. The curbside drop off and pick up service is amazing during these times. They are quick, very well organized and very accommodating. I’m so happy to have a place I feel comfortable bringing my very anxious high maintenanced-personality dog where I can go about my day knowing he is in the best hands and care!!!!!!
I just picked up my pup from his first bath/groom with Keely and we’re both beyond pleased. Keely is super friendly and knowledgeable; she put my dog mom self at ease and had great feedback to share regarding his breed(s) with me. And the price of his bath was so cost friendly. Myles and I will definitely be back again for his next bath and future play dates! Also, shout out to Mason who helped me get the appt set up in a short time. So appreciative of Barks and Rec!
